Today, What's Her Name and Dad took us car right after breakfast! We went to a train store so she could FINALLY get something for Dad for his 41st birthday tomorrow (Is 41 anywhere near 87, does anybuddy know?)
Anyhoos, what's her name actually found something that Dad does NOT know about! It is something with CSX on it. She sent Dad out back to the car to see us, and while she was paying for the other stuff Dad picked out she found it Promise- pictures tomorrow!
THEN, she was exercising her jaw, again, with the ladies who run the store and found out that there were three Rudolph the RedNosed Reindeer themed train cars available! She looked at them and put them on layaway for us to give Dad Christmas morning. Finally using her head!
Of course, what happened next was even more impawtant as far as we were concerned- we hit the McDonald's next door! We needed more water and Mom slipped up and ordered a sandwich meal for Dad and herself (she isn;t allowed ANY fast food anymore, but was told it would take a while for her to resist the yummy goodness) We had glorious french fries, since Mom isn;t supposed to have them, and we also had to sacrifice to make sure they were cooked properly so Dad wouldn;t get s sick tummy. YUMMY!!!
Then Mom drove us home and then after a quick nappy, we helped clean out the garage so that Dad could finally use his powerwasher that we got him for Easter. We are so pooped out that we need another nappy!
Bye!

WWPD, part 2
Mom wants to apologize to the blogosphere. SHe did NOT realize that what she wrote about Her Majesty, She Who Must Be Obeyed, Puddles, would be misconstrued in any way. Some readers have mistakenly interpreted what Mom wrote as CRITICISM of Her Majesty.
Let us assure you, Mom adores Puddles and has fallen under her spell. We have to live with the Puddles phenomenon. Mom would not even think a bad thought of Puddles, or any dachshund, for that matter.

Monday Monday
Mom just came home from Home Depot where she spent 87 million green papers for the new living room and dining room floors. Yesterday Dad and she painted the plywood in the dining room- they used something that is supposed to cover up pet stains!!! (NOT ours- promise) She had to buy more of it for under the remaining pink mess in the living room- once the dining room floor gets installed then all the furniture in the living room (half of which goes in the dr) goes into the dining room while the ugly pink mess gets pulled out> Mom thinks that there MIGHT be some staining from us in this part of the house. Who knows? Can she tell by looking or sniffing?
Anyway, great Thai news- he has completely made himself at home- so much so that MOM has to share her pillow with him at bedtime!!! That's right- he just lays on her side of the bed and takes over her pillow, while Chip and Ginger monopolize the middle of the bed. Mom is insisting that Dad buy a king size bed just so there is some room for her. Who does she think she is?

MOM is Mad today!!!
MOM is mad today, and mot just because of what happened in Washington DC last night. She went to Mass this morning and came home to find three HUGE presents from Thai and someone else that had to be cleaned up before she took the car to the shop. THEN the toilet got plugged up somehow and she had to call a plumber for this afternoon. THEN when she was at the car dealer, she was on hold for over an hour with the car warranty insurance company, and they sent her to voicemail when she asked for a supervisor. (Dad and MOm had bought one of those extended warranties that are advertised on tv) She was furious that she got cut off for the third time- now she can't get the insurance company to pay for the new blower motor since she paid for it herself after all of their nonsense of keeping her on hold for so long (they are supposed to pay the facility directly, and are supposed to take care of claims during the week- it is defintely a scam if you can't get through for over an hour- also, the repair shop has to file the claim, and no mechanic worth his salt can have his phone line tied up for an hour for one repair job) THEN Mom found three NEW pee spots in the house just now and we are all hiding from her. Mom just took us out too, but it is raining, so we peed inside and "forgot" to tell her. On top of that the new Dachsie Bot had to be replaced as it was leaking and now the new one is too!!!!!
Maybe we will be good tomorrow? Thai's stitches come out then. Mom is taking us all with her when she takes Thai to the VET, so maybe there won't be any stains on the floors!!!

Mom is sick now!!!
First Dad, now Mom. What in the world is happening? Mom has a bad case of bronchitis, and is taking a couple of days off. That does NOT mean that she won't be using the DachsieBot (she had to do so three times today and it is barely noon here) but she will be sleeping a lot until she feels better. She has a fever and then the chills, and could not sleep last night(she kept US up)
When she gets back, she will be posting some photos of Ginger in her Glampur Pink Hug-A-Dog harness, perfect for a bridesmaid Frankie!

Back from the people vet
Dad has a stomach virus that will take 5 to 7 days to work its way through his system and he is home from work until Wednesday, if he is actually feeling better tomorrow night. So, he has to keep drinking Gatorade and ginger ale (he drank 3/4 of a gallon of Gatorade yesterday and a 2 liter of ginger ale today so far), and he can have rice with butter for dinner. He can try the chicken soup Mom made tonight also, but he wants to put it off until tomorrow. That way, there is more for Frankie Furter!!!!
Dad has to go to the people vet
This weekend was pretty much a bummer for us (except for our trip to PetSmart) Dad got sick Saturday, so he could not take Mom out to celebrate his bonus for last year. he spent all day Sunday in bed, living off of Gatorade and yogurt since his tummy hurts. He is NOT throwing up, so that is a good thing. The bad thing is that Mom slept on the couch last night and we wanted to sleep in our bed!!!! Thai and Ginger kept making Mom get up to take them out, while Chip just slept right thru it all. Chip spent most of Sunday in bed with Dad, too, while Thai and Ginger stayed with Mom downstairs, helping her make chicken soup.
Dad is still not feeling well, so he sees the people vet at 1 PM. Hope he gets better soon.
(We also FINALLY got our thank you to Mango done today, which is the deadline.)

Mom
Mom is on a tear- last night while she and Dad were packing for our trip, we all pee'd in the house!!!! Neither Mom nor Dad were amused with us for this, and this morning, since it was so cold, we all left Mom presents!!! THAT has never happened before. The Dachsie Bot got quite a work out.
After we went to bed, there were some adventures which kept Mom up all night- she even wrote about them on her non-Dachsie blog (we forgot she had one)

Dad's 40th Birthday Weekend
Sorry that we did not blog Saturday or Sunday, but Dad turned 40 on Saturday, and we celebrated both days. Dad returned home from two late night calls Saturday around 9 AM, had breakfast and opened our gifts to him before he took a nap. Ginger and I had Mom pick up the Ice Age 3 DVD set and the UP DVD set. Everybody knows UP is about the talking dogs- I still don't know why there weren't any dachsies, but we watched it Sunday in our pjs. After Dad's nap Saturday, he and mom went to Mass and then to Build a Bear and to Yellow Tail for sushi. Yesterday, Dad and Mom took us to Cleveland to see the house from Dad's favorite movie, "A Christmas Story". We behaved ourselves in the car, and Mom bought Dad his very own Major Award real size leg lamp. It now is in our front window. It looks kind of cool and Dad loves it. We weren't allowed in the museum, but we protected the car while our parental units were inside. Dad was very happy-
