Four years ago today

Four years ago today, our beloved Ginger, foundress of the DWM, went to the Rainbow Bridge unexpectedly.  She had not been ill- in fact has been to the vet for her annual exam two weeks earlier.  She drifted off to heaven while sleeping next to me as I embroidered.  My heart broke and for two weeks I was inconsolable, even with four other dachshunds holding my hand.  I could feel her and hear her tags jangling for weeks afterwards.  Our move to St Louis and Snoopy's adoption finally helped me start to heal-  (am convinced Ginger sent Snoopy to look after me- he is as possessive, even more so, than Ginger, and he always has to have me in his line of sight)

Miss you Ginger.  Mama still misses you and loves you.

The time has flown by!

We apologize for not blogging sooner!  Our new home is simply pawfect!  Our new kingdom is the bestest place ever.  We have a great backyard and we have been busy with the barking telegraph introducing ourselves to the local dogs, rolling in the grass and the dirt, and keeping WHN on her toes opening the door to the backyard every five minutes!  Dad is very happy- he took a week off for the move itself and we are glad that he did.  He even had the forsight to rent a UHaul van to help transport our breakables and it came in handy as the movers did not move everything!  They were simply terrible and the move became even more stressful than it should have been.  Thankfully we won't ever be moving again!  Both Dad and WHN made three trips to our home the day the movers were "working"- Dad even had to move the flat screen tv himself.  WHN was at her wits end with the movers- Instead of having a week to unpack properly, Dad had to spend three days moving everything the movers did not- ANd, to add insult to injury, Dad and WHN had already boxed up everything for the movers- all they were supposed to do was load up the furniture and the boxes!  Dad had to buy an alen wrench set so their bed could be disassembled because the movers did not have one with them, and then tried to say that we had too much stuff and it would take two days to move. So, you can see why we have not been here in BLogville- we have been trying to keep WHN sane!

Dad bought WHN a new camera, but she hasn't even used it!  Dad is busy painting the kitchen a nice sunny yellow today, and the two bathrooms get painted next payday- the former owners painted them gray and beige (YUCK!!!)  When Dad is done with them, our bathroom will be a nice mint green and theirs will be a chambray blue.  The living room and dining room are still full of boxes, but Dad and WHN have been unpacking them and there is daylight!  Dad has also started setting up his trains in the basement and loving every minute he gets.  WHN has finally finished setting up her sewing room and she is one happy camper- we of course have our beds strategically plaed for supervisory duties.  WHN has been keeping us on our toes.

So, this summer we will be throwing a HUUUUGE bash for BLogville!   Plan on it being in August!
