Four years ago today, our beloved Ginger, foundress of the DWM, went to the Rainbow Bridge unexpectedly. She had not been ill- in fact has been to the vet for her annual exam two weeks earlier. She drifted off to heaven while sleeping next to me as I embroidered. My heart broke and for two weeks I was inconsolable, even with four other dachshunds holding my hand. I could feel her and hear her tags jangling for weeks afterwards. Our move to St Louis and Snoopy's adoption finally helped me start to heal- (am convinced Ginger sent Snoopy to look after me- he is as possessive, even more so, than Ginger, and he always has to have me in his line of sight) Miss you Ginger. Mama still misses you and loves you.
I bet Angel Ginger was there to finally meet her Angel Shiloh. I can just picture them running together over the meadow and scouting out rabbit holes beyond the Rainbow Bridge. Mom Kim
Sorry we are late to leave this special memory of your incredible Ginger. When we first met the DWM, White Dog knew she had a new friend with a kindered spirit...a bit diva but caring for her siblings and with a heart huge and loving. Ginger lives forever in the hearts of every creature she and your blog touched.

She was one very special girl!
One day, God willing, you'll be together again.
Oh how we miss that beautiful, sweet girl!
