Mom and Dad took us to the Medina parade Monday. They really packed the car- chairs, a cooler, and our traveling bag in case we left "presents", which Chip did!!!
Ginger had been to the parade in Northfield, Ohio last year, due to a fluke- Mom and Dad were at the laundromat and were stuck in the parking lot!!!! That parade was glorious- lots of candy thrown at the spectators by the people participating!! LOTS of other dogs too in attendance.
This year was Ginger's second parade and Thai and Chip's first. The day started with breakfast (Burger King, since it was a holiday). Then, Mom and Dad dressed in red white and blue, and loaded the car. When we saw the leashes, we thought that we were going for walkies we had a great time at the parade too- Dad set us up near the spring Grove cemetery entrance, which was the end point for the parade, right under an oak tree. We even behaved- Chip didn't bark too much at all of the people as they walked by.
Dad took pictures and Mom held us up, one at a time, to see the parade marching by. mom was crying too, she gets very emotional on this holiday.
THEN, when we got home, Dad barbecued, and WE HAD STEAK!!!! STEAK, just for US!!!!! There was steak for Mom and dad, plus a ham steak, so don't worry- they had good food too. Ginger explained that this is what we get to eat on Memorial Day, the 4th of July and Labor Day. We think that we are going to LOVE summer!!!
