Thai's adoption has been placed on hold as his medical status is uncertain. According to our vet, he no longer realizes that he does not have total control of his rear legs. He is NOT in any pain, but is on crate rest and steroids. He needs an MRI to determine the exact cause of the weakness- it could be as simple as a pinched nerve or it could be that a second disc was herniated when he had his IVDD surgery four years ago and it was overlooked accidentally or it was decided that it was not as great a risk as the one that was repaired.
The board of DRNA must decide the course of action concerning Thai's medical issues- ie, what will be done in light of his age and previous history. he will remain here with us for the foreseeable future, but is not adoptable since he does have these issues. He most likely will end up in a cart down the road, but he will live out his life in dignoty and with love.
